SHORT DESCRIPTION
The journey takes you from Maun, the bustling town on the edge of the Okavango Delta, to Victoria Falls. Stations include the villages of Xai Xai and Nxamasere, the spirited Tsodilo Hills, Shinde in the Delta and Kasane on the Chobe River. You will get impressions of people's daily lives, get to know many cultures and experience infinite nature up close. A professional photographer is permanently at your side. The journey creates countless opportunities for spectacular pictures in a wide variety of genres. Changing lighting conditions, gathering moods, capturing fast movements are just some of the challenges.

ITINERARY
Day 1 | Maun option to Aerial Photography
You arrive in Maun, the gate to the Okavango Delta and administrative center of the province of Ngaminland, located on the picturesque Thamalakane River. Since the town’s establishment in 1915 as the tribal capital of the Batawana people, it has become more and more the headquarter of countless safari and air-charter operations.
Depending on your arrival, we give you the option to do an optional aerial photography by helicopter with doors open over the Okavango Delta. Welcome Dinner (D)

Day 2 – 4 | Xai Xai Village (San village) - Cultural Photography
The tiny Xai Xai Village in northwestern Botswana is home to some of the last remaining aborigines of Southern Africa, the San. As part of a national community-based tourism strategy, they can make a profit out of the land and tourism which it generated. You get a deep insight on how the San have lived in the Kalahari as hunter and gatherers for thousands of years. You are also invited to share their famous trance dance with them, combined with healing abilities of the traditional doctors. (B, L, D)

Road transfer from Maun to Nokaneng in a bus (160 km). From there, vehicle exchange into 4 x 4 to Xai Xai Village and the Aha Hills (150 km).

Day 5 | Nxamaseri Village - People Photography
Nxamaseri Village is in Northwestern Botswana close to the Okavango Delta panhandle. Not far from the Tsodilo Hills, the area has strong traditional and cultural links to the San people. During the afternoon, our photographer will offer you the opportunity for a special session of People Photography with some of the Nxamaseri Village habitants. (B, L, D)

Day 6 | Tsodilo Hills Rock - Art Photography
The Tsodilo Hills with a cluster of about 4,500 rock paintings (San Rock Art) are the biggest rock art collection in Southern Africa and UNESCO World Heritage. Sacred to the San people, the Hills continue to revere them for spiritual and cultural significance. During your stay you walk with a local guide around the four Hills with plenty of time for rock art photography. (B, L, D)

Day 7 – 9 | Okavango Delta - Wildlife Photography
The Okavango Delta, the largest inland delta in the world, surrounded by the dried-up Kalahari, forms a huge, green oasis, fed by the flow of the mighty Okavango River. Explore the countless waterways and canals on foot and or by boat (mokoro) searching with your camera for suitable photo motifs in the natural terrain of huge elephant herds or hippo families, including an arsenal of several hundred species of birds as well. Night drives are available. (B, L, D)

Day 10 - 11 | Kasane (Chobe National Park) - Wildlife Photography
Chobe National Park, the second largest national park in Botswana, is home to the greatest concentration of game in Southern Africa. In the Park or on the Chobe River you can expect to see some of the famous “Big Five” as well as wild animals like antelopes, monkeys, warthogs or crocodiles. Pangolin Photo Hotel is a unique lodge with specially designed and built photo boats seating 8 photographers in swivel seats with photographic arms for stabilization. (B, L, D)

Day 12 | Victoria Falls - Nature Photography
After early morning activity in Kasane you leave for Victoria Falls Mosi-oa-Thunya "The smoke that thunders". It’s one of the world's seven natural wonders and one of the most spectacular natural sites in the world. You can be sure that the Victoria Falls will offer you breath-taking views that are almost too spectacular and majestic to describe. (B, L, D)

Day 13 | Victoria Falls Departure
Morning is at leisure or time to do any activities around the Falls. Road transfer to Victoria Falls International Airport for check in. (B)

Essential Gear required:
* 2 x DSLR or DSLM Bodies - preferably with full frame sensors
* At least two batteries per camera (one spare always)
* 1 x wide angle lens for landscapes
* 1 x zoom lens - 70 - 200 mm (preferably F2.8)
* 1 x zoom lens - 100 - 400mm or 80 to 400mm F 4.5 - 5.6
* Memory cards - bring plenty or a hard drive and laptop for downloading
* Sturdy camera bag & cleaning equipment
* Tripod/ monopod * A good pair of binoculars (essential)
Optional Gear as needed:
* Laptop and 2 hard drives for dual back up and freeing memory space
* Camera mounted flash
* Rain/ dust coat to protect your gear
* Telephoto lens 500mm F4 or 600mm F4
Please note, that this is only a recommendation for ambitious photographers.
For those, with just “ordinary” cameras, or mobile phones, who would like to participate in this special way of traveling, are more than welcome to join.
